This was one of the most exciting sights I’ve seen on tour, where our tenure is there are a lot of Black Bears and not a lot if any Grizzlies. Luckily this beautiful little female, who is about 2.5-3 years old, wondered into The Whistler Olympic Park seemingly looking for a new home. When we first noticed her she was very shy and kept her distance, she didn’t look very healthy and we were hoping that she would be able to find enough food, she thankfully found enough food and by the end of the summer she was looking big and healthy. She started to feel more comfortable with our presence and awarded me with this amazing up close encounter, out of frame were two mother Black Bears with cubs keeping a close eye on her.

We saw here for two summers and then she vanished without a trace.
